My journey into music reviews came about some 12 years ago when a friend got involved with a magazine called 'Whats On Southwest'. This was a Monthly magazine and he was responsible for the music section, I assisted him for a couple of years and eventually took over as Music Editor prior to the magazine being bought out by a local Westcountry based newspaper.

For a couple of years, I continued to receive various promo CD's in the post but was not able to do anything in the area of promotion as I had no outlet.........until now !!

Through sheer grit and determination, I got together with a renowned web designer and spent hours planning how the site would look, what it would contain and how users would be able to easily navigate around it......6 months after the initial talks, www.musicreviewpodcast.com was created.

I am always on the lookout for new ways of improving the site, feedback is welcomed and we have already made some changes to the review pages to make things slightly easier on the eye.

Currently listening to....
I am loving Mumford & Sons, Fleet Foxes, REM, Eels and Massive Attack

Favourite bands/artists....
Far too many to choose from but if I were tied up and threatened with torture, I would have to say REM, Teenage Fanclub, MUSE, Pop Will Eat Itself, Nirvana, Mega City Four, Hendrix, Beatles and The Killers

Favourite concerts attended....
Again, far too many to choose from but I think the highlights will have been seeing a pre formed MUSE in a crummy sports hall in Teignmouth circa 1992 then seeing them sell out Wembley Stadium for 2 nights on the roll in 2007 is up there, I have also seen some great bands in their infancy, Blur, Suede, Teenage Fanclub.....meeting Evan Dando from The Lemonheads outside a gig in Glasgow was a mind blowing experience (that was just the second hand smoke!)

Favourite films....
I watch tons of movies, present movies that are ‘doing’ it for me include ‘The Firm’, ‘Inglorious Basterds’, ‘The Road’ and ‘Planet 51’ (blame my eldest son for that !! As for classics, ‘The Shining, ‘Taxi Driver’, ‘The Godfather’ trilogy, anything by Scorsese or Tarantino.

Favourite books....
Just finished an interesting book by Michael Moore called ‘TV Nation’, based on his mid 1990’s controversial US TV show, very good. Currently reading a book based on scripts, live performances and interviews from the late great comedian, Bill Hicks.....he was SO before his time. Other favourite authors include John Niven, Stephen King and Tom Clancy.

I have backed up my position as Reviews Editor at MusicReviewPodcast.com with stints writing for a staff magazine at Exeter College in Devon during 2003, as well as 'What’s On Southwest', which was circulated around the Devon and Cornwall area, between 2005-2007.

I aim to provide impartial, honest reviews and am always excited by the prospect of new bands and attending live gigs. I play guitar in a band ‘Your Own Private Enemies’, and have published three books of my writing online.
