Ezcapade have just celebrated the release of their debut single When The Beat Drops (OUT NOW), which has been described by Heat as, "A big fat slice of infectious dance pop..." The accompanying video is quite simply, futuristically outstanding. Drawing influences from the 1968 sci-fi classic Barbarella and 1997 cult classic, The Fifth Element, Carina moves ferociously amongst an army of robotic-esq dancers sporting a series of ultramodern outfits, amidst a barrage of stupendous visuals.  Read more.

We were first introduced to The Like in 2006 when they signed to Geffen Records and released their debut album Are You Thinking What I'm Thinking to critical acclaim, and toured worldwide, playing Coachella, the Wireless Festival, and opening for bands such as Muse and Kings of Leon. The long awaited new album is the product of hard work, fortuitous new partnerships and great songs that reflect a long and winding period where the band has collectively been through it all and come out on the other side far stronger for the experience.  Release Me heralds the arrival of a tighter and more enthused band, one with a stronger and deeper sense of who they are. Arcade Fire - The Suburbs Review
Label: Mercury
Release Date: 2nd Aug, 2010
Genre: Indie

If 2007's Neon Bible was supposed to be Arcade Fire's difficult second album, it didn't show. Top marks from a cavalcade of critical tomes saw the Montreal septet's sequel to their breakthrough debut long-player of 2004, Funeral, received with just as much reverence as its predecessor. So what of The Suburbs, arriving after another three-year period which saw its makers record in both their hometown and New York?

Even on a cursory listen, a water-testing foray into its 16 tracks, it's immediately apparent that this is an album unlike either that came before it. While Funeral and Neon Bible were great sets, their strengths laid primarily in a handful of stand-out selections: Wake Up and Power Out on the former, No Cars Go and Black Wave among the highs on the latter.

Muse - Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever)
Label: Warner Bros
Release Date: 17th May, 2010
Genre: Alternative Rock

It wasn't going to be long until Messrs Bellamy and Co were asked to provide a title track to a scorching Summer blockbuster....and here it is.

Neutron Star Collision (Love is Forever) is to be included on the soundtrack to this summers epic episode from the Twilight Saga film series, the movie, due for release on 30 June and entitled "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" will no doubt see more lovey dovey neck biting and blood gulping shenanigans whilst you sway slowly in your seat to the likes of various 'A-List' bands and artists (can you tell I am too long in the tooth to be drawn into all this vampire palaver?)

Creed - Live DVD
Label: EMI
Release Date: 7th Dec, 2009
Genre: Rock

A live document of the band's concert in Houston, Texas in September 2009, this is the first live DVD the band have released. Recorded during their re-union tour in support of the "Full Circle" album, it features tracks both old and new. Featuring much opportunity for head banging and stage diving (although perhaps not in the comfort of your own home, someone might get hurt diving off the coffee table) it's a great recreation of the live Creed experience. While never a massively commercial band in the UK, this DVD features renditions of their hits such as "Higher", "With Arms Wide Open", "My Sacrifice" and "One Last Breath". It's evident the band are having great fun being back playing together again, and the crowd lap it up. Extra features include a photo gallery, a documentary on the re-union of the group and a music video for the track "Overcome".

One question? why do all the fit women manage to get to the front of the crowd on live music DVDs?

Our Verdict : 4/5
